- Carla burped, then laughed. "Let's do this!" This time she led him down the dance floor, her head swiveling, taking in the crowd as she led them into the center of the roiling, dancing crowd.
- At first, they danced together, both well-lubricated from the several strong drinks they'd enjoyed. The crowd moved around them as if a single living being, undulating to the strong beat, driven by the rotating lights and masked by the ever-present fog that filtered from vents above, turning the floor into a misty, magical place where normal rules went out the window and hands and bodies moved over total strangers.
